OPENING — 45 seconds
"Good evening everyone. For those who don't know me, I'm [Your Name], [Groom's] best man — chosen, I assume, because [self-deprecating line — e.g. 'all of his better options were already taken' / 'no one else would say yes']."
"They told me to keep it clean, keep it short, and keep my phone away from his mother. I'll try two out of three."
[Pause for laugh.]

HOW I KNOW HIM — 90 seconds
"I have known [Groom] since [when / how — short]. Back then he was [one funny, gentle description — e.g. 'six foot one of pure confidence and absolutely no clue what to do with it']."
"One memory that sums him up: [short story, max three sentences, ending in a small laugh — nothing the in-laws will hate]."

THE GROOM AS A FRIEND — 60 seconds
"But here's the truth about [Groom]. Strip away [tiny tease — e.g. 'the questionable haircuts and the karaoke he is not legally allowed to perform in three counties'], and you find one of the most loyal, generous, ridiculously kind people I know."
"He has been there for me [brief, real example — one sentence]."

WHEN HE MET HER — 90 seconds
"And then [Partner] walked in."
"The first time he mentioned her, [short anecdote — what he said / how he looked]."
"[Partner] — you have done what no one else managed: you have made him [genuine compliment — e.g. 'better, calmer, and on time']."

DIRECT TO THE COUPLE — 60 seconds
"[Groom], [Partner] — watching you two together, it is impossible not to root for you. You laugh at the same nonsense. You look after each other in the small ways that actually matter. And anyone who has been in a room with you can see it."

THE TOAST — 30 seconds
"So please, everyone, on your feet — glasses up."
