OPENING — 45 seconds

WHO THEY WERE — 90 seconds

"To understand [Name], you only need one story. [Short, specific story — 3-4 sentences — that shows who they were]."
"That was [Name]. [One sentence that lands the meaning of the story]."

WHAT THEY GAVE US — 60 seconds
"[Name] gave us [specific gifts — e.g. 'patience when we did not deserve it, honesty when we needed it, and laughter at the kitchen table that I can still hear if I close my eyes']."
"[Optional second memory, short and warm.]"
"Everyone in this room is carrying some piece of [Name] forward without even realising it."

LOSS AND LOVE — 45 seconds
"Losing [Name] is enormous. There is no neat way to say that. But what I keep coming back to is this: we are devastated because we were lucky. We got to know [her / him / them]. We got to be loved by [her / him / them]. Most people are not that fortunate."

CLOSING — 30 seconds
