WEDDING TOAST — 5 MINUTES

[1] OPENING — 30 seconds
"Good evening everyone. For those of you who don't know me yet, I'm [Your Name] — [your relationship to the couple, in one short line]. I promise I'll keep this short, on the basis that the bar is open and [Name] paid for it."
[Pause for laugh.]

[2] WHO THEY ARE — 60 seconds
"I have known [Partner A] since [when / how]. The thing you need to know about [Partner A] is [one core quality with a tiny, specific example — e.g. 'she is the kind of person who remembers your coffee order three years after you mentioned it once']."
"And [Partner B] — well, anyone who's met [Partner B] knows [one quality with one specific image]."

[3] THE STORY OF THEM — 90 seconds
"The moment I realised they were the real thing was [specific story — short, warm, no inside jokes the room won't get]."
"What that story tells you about [Partner A] and [Partner B] is [one line about the relationship — e.g. 'they bring out the bravest version of each other']."

[4] DIRECT TO THE COUPLE — 60 seconds
"[Partner A], [Partner B] — looking at the two of you today, I just want to say [genuine, simple sentence — e.g. 'you have built something rare, and watching you choose each other again today has been the privilege of my year.']"
"My wish for you is simple: [one heartfelt line — e.g. 'may you keep laughing at the same things, forgive each other quickly, and never lose the way you look at each other across a room.']"

[5] THE TOAST — 30 seconds
"So please, everyone, raise your glasses with me. To [Partner A] and [Partner B] — to a marriage as good as the love that brought us all here today."
"To [Partner A] and [Partner B]."
[Drink. Sit down.]
